Earthquakes
Throughout history, Lisbon has experienced seismic phenomena which, with greater or lesser intensity, have produced different types of damage, such as the famous 1755 earthquake, with an estimated magnitude of 8.7 and intensity of grades IX to X, which produced a great deal of destruction, especially in the downtown area.

Actions in Lisbon schools
The ReSist Project Team carried out several awareness-raising actions on geological risks in the city of Lisbon and on the self-protection behaviors to adopt in the event of an earthquake
These actions covered 2,500 public school students, from pre-school to secondary school, and were based on games and didactic activities such as puzzles, computer games, models and experiments in which they actively participated
The emergency kit was also distributed and prepared
In addition to training students from Lisbon's public schools, actions were also carried out to provide teachers with educational resources. One of the actions took place on November 16, in person, with 30 teachers taking part. The second took place on November 29th, online, and 170 teachers took part.
Cooperation and knowledge-sharing actions
The ReSist Project Team has been collaborating with various inter-municipal communities (Área Metropolitana de Lisboa, Leiria, Oeste, Médio Tejo, Lezíria do Tejo, Alto Alentejo, Alentejo Central, Alentejo Litoral and Baixo Alentejo) with a view to sharing knowledge and disseminating good practices for promoting seismic resilience
