Boosting Sport

Sport and physical activity are now part of a lifestyle that goes beyond city planning. They contribute to our physical well-being, but also to our mental and spiritual well-being.

Through their public spaces, their modern urbanism and the maintenance of their heritage, cities are the stage for different forms of sport and different ways of promoting healthier habits.

When it comes to sport, everyone counts. From the youngest to the oldest. Whether it's for leisure or top-level sport, Lisbon is today an inspirational setting for thousands of people, although it still needs a robust and motivating infrastructure.

On the other hand, Lisbon has a competitive advantage that Lisboners should be reminded of every day: the sea and its riverside area.

It is essential to promote physical activity by the sea. Lisbon's location, with the river and the sea, invites the city to promote contact between its inhabitants and the maritime reality.
