Lisbon is a cosmopolitan, inclusive and integrated city. Education is a fundamental pillar of human development and a determinant of social mobility and the future of Lisbon's families.

A city without education becomes more fragile, more willing for new, often extreme narratives to shape future generations.

It is therefore essential to invest in the local education community, with the contribution of civil society and parish councils. Early school leaving is a worrying reality in Lisbon and in Portugal, especially among children at risk of economic and social exclusion. Investing in the intersection of education and culture is fundamental, in the form of actions that make the school community aware of Lisbon's cultural activities and heritage, as well as linking education to sport in curricular learning and in the area of disability and adapted sport.

It is also important for cities to invest in flexible education, adapted to the globalized world, in which digital identity is part of a broader pedagogical system.
