A school feeding program designed to promote the acquisition of healthy eating habits and reduce risk factors, promoting growth, development and disease prevention throughout life.
The program focuses on thematic activities, workshops and awareness-raising activities in kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and secondary schools.
Vegi is the Healthy Growing mascot. He's a humanized vegetable, very fun and healthy, who interacts with the children in the programme's various initiatives.

DESCOLA is a strategic intervention project by the municipality of Lisbon to promote cultural and environmental education in schools, through the Municipal Directorate for Culture, EGEAC, the Municipal Directorate for the Environment, Green Structure, Climate and Energy and Lisboa E-Nova. It involves municipal cultural facilities, including museums, libraries, archives, monuments, galleries, cinemas, theaters, and facilities linked to nature such as farms, gardens and parks, in enhancing the educational dimension of the city's cultural and natural heritage, making it available to everyone, and throughout life, as a source of inspiration and a sense of belonging.
The activities proposed at Descola are aligned with non-formal learning methodologies, are based on the guidelines of the Key Competences of the Profile of Students Leaving Compulsory Schooling and the National Strategy for Citizenship Education, are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and promote Lisbon's cultural and natural heritage as a field for research, participation, questioning and creativity.
School sport encourages physical activity and sports training as a means of promoting student success, healthy lifestyles, values and principles associated with active citizenship.
Programs and courses designed for young people and adults with a view to training them for the job market and their personal development.
It is a literacy education program that focuses on the education of children and young people in Lisbon's public schools, motivating them towards reading practices and multidisciplinary learning, while respecting the values and identity of the city of Lisbon.
Promoted by the Lisbon City Council's Education Department and aimed at pre-school children, primary and secondary school students and the educational community, the program offers various activities in and for schools.

It is a digital platform that aims to transform the access of young people and adults, from all walks of life, to learning opportunities that are relevant to their personal and professional success, empowering them for the job market, their personal development and active citizenship.
This platform systematizes learning opportunities for people to develop their interests or learning objectives in a flexible and open way, generating, according to the criteria defined by the learning providers, micro-certificates (open badges) for each learning or list of learnings.
It was created by the international organization Badgecraft and developed for Lisbon by the City Council as part of an international project co-funded by the European Commission.
The Orquestra Geração project is aimed at children in situations of greater educational and social vulnerability and at schools where school drop-outs and problems of multicultural coexistence are more sensitive. In Lisbon, the project is present in five primary and secondary schools:
- Francisco Arruda hub: Alexandre Herculano Primary School, EB2,3 Francisco Arruda and EB Alto de Santo Amaro
- Benfica Campus: Arquiteto Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles Primary School, Pedro de Santarém Primary School, Jorge Barradas Primary School and José Gomes Ferreira Secondary School
- Olaias Campus: Armador Primary School and Olaias Primary School (EB2,3)
- Gil Vicente Campus: Santa Clara Primary School and Gil Vicente Primary and Secondary School
- Pintor Almada Negreiros Pole: Alta de Lisboa Kindergarten, EB Alta de Lisboa and EB Pintor Almada Negreiros
The project currently involves around 300 students, children and young people.
In 2018, the "Orquestra dos Afetos" began at the Alta de Lisboa elementary school, where there are serious socio-urban dysfunctions, especially aimed at children aged 4 to 6. This school year, 160 children attend musical expression classes.
The line-up of the Geração Lisboa Municipal Youth Orchestra varies between 55 and 65 students, from all the different branches of the Lisbon Orchestra.
Aimed at students at all levels of education (from pre-school to secondary school) in Lisbon's public school system, it promotes: non-formal education, with a broad and diversified educational offer, contributing to the formation of aware and informed citizens. Based on four areas - scientific and environmental education, sports education, cultural education and civic education - the program aims to deepen students' knowledge through visits/activities carried out by the program's network partners.
At each visit/activity, pre-school and elementary school students present their School Passport, which is stamped with the date and place visited, leaving them with a record of their journey at the end of the pre-school and elementary school cycle.
Transportation for children, students and teachers is provided, subject to availability, by Lisbon City Council.

The "MISSION H2O LISBOA" kit was created with the aim of introducing the work of the General Drainage Plan to elementary school children.
The SEED project is a challenge proposed to students, teachers and partners in Lisbon's entrepreneurial ecosystem, with the aim of promoting the development of entrepreneurial skills in the younger age groups (9th to 12th grade), creating opportunities for these students to learn to work in teams, stimulating their creativity and autonomy, valuing their skills and helping to transform their ideas into value for the community, thus promoting a link between school and the world of work, with a special focus on technological and creative areas.
The "Study in Lisbon" project is the result of a partnership between all the organizations in Lisbon that are interested in promoting, disseminating and consolidating the city's intellectual and scientific potential.
The aim of this project is to bring together as many entities as possible so that, through joint initiatives, they can publicize and promote the city's scientific and academic potential and institutions internationally, thus helping to attract talent, students and national and foreign researchers to Lisbon.
To centralize all the information available, the project has a platform that aggregates content, partners and initiatives, with the aim of making the city known as a global hub in the fields of knowledge and innovation.
Ginja is a socio-emotional development program for children and students from pre-school to the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education (CEB), which will be implemented in 5 School Groups in the Municipality of Lisbon, between September 2024 and June 2025, in a pilot edition. Its objectives are:
1) Work on emotions with children and young people;
2) To develop socio-emotional skills;
3) Promote awareness, intelligence and emotional expression; and
4) Improve mental health.
The implementation of the program in pre-school and 1st grade lasts approximately six months and is based on videos, songs, manual activities and various materials. In the 2nd and 3rd grade, it comprises 11 sessions with group games and 5 board games and cards to work on emotions.
The school groups involved in this pilot edition are: Benfica, Eça de Queirós, Fernando Pessoa, Filipa de Lencastre and Luís António Verney.
The "The horse and I... Together to discover!" project, promoted by the Therapeutic Riding Center of the Cerebral Palsy Association of Lisbon (CET - APCL), aims to continue providing weekly sessions of Equine Assisted Therapies (occupational therapy, physiotherapy and psychomotricity) to children aged 6 to 14, who are signposted by the Learning Support Centers of the public primary schools in the municipality of Lisbon.
This program aims to:
1) To provide a complementary therapeutic activity, with a positive impact on the implementation of the project to develop the functionality and autonomy of children with special needs in the Municipality of Lisbon. Through equine-assisted therapies, the children will enjoy a range of diverse experiences (at a motor, cognitive and psychosocial level), which will contribute to an intervention model aimed at creating opportunities and social inclusion;
2) Raising early awareness of the skills and abilities of people with special needs;
3) Raise awareness among the general population of the importance of inclusive activities that meet the needs of both children with special needs and the entire school community.
