Upgrading the School Surroundings
School surroundings should be safe places with quality pedestrian space, which is why work has been carried out near schools to upgrade the pedestrian and cycling network and implement traffic calming measures. Interventions such as adequate signage on the approach to a school, increased visibility for pedestrians at crosswalks, the demarcation of a continuous pedestrian channel without obstacles at the access to the school or the implementation of road speed reduction measures are simple but effective actions, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (3) of reducing road accidents, which have been implemented.
