Prevention
The Prevention Section and the Technical Office for Fire Safety in Buildings are a support unit for the RSB in the area of fire risk prevention in Lisbon
Responsibilities:
- support and provide clarification on compliance with external conditions and access to vehicles and firefighters in the event of rescue, on municipal studies and projects, at the request of the other organic units of Lisbon City Council
- assisting in the coordination of the Cadastre Brigade , whose mission is to repair and ensure the proper functioning of fire hydrants in Lisbon, including the permanent updating of their cadastre and register
- defining fire prevention guards at events: at concert halls, venues and equipment, particularly sports venues, ensuring that buildings, equipment and other places where private individuals request the RSB's collaboration and presence to carry out drills, have the legal documents required for this purpose
- issue opinions and carry out inspections, for the purposes of issuing authorizations for use in relation to urban planning operations for which the license application was submitted before 1/1/2009 (date of entry into force of Decree-Law 220/2008 of 12/11)
- issue opinions, carry out inspections, regular and extraordinary inspections at the request of residents, inspection actions arising from complaints from residents, in accordance with the aforementioned law (within the scope of the protocol with the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, in force since 17/9/2012)
