Cultural facilities
The Lisbon Museum is made up of five places where you can discover the history of the city.
With complementary valences and objectives, these five centers share an identity and a mission: to reveal Lisbon in different ways, to show the richness of one of Europe's oldest cities.
Pimenta Palace
Headquarters of the Museum of Lisbon, located in Campo Grande
It shows the evolution of the city, from the occupation of the territory during prehistoric times to the end of the 20th century.
Saint Anthony
Located in the historic area of the city, next to the Church of Santo António, close to the Cathedral
It introduces the figure of the saint, highlighting his relationship with Lisbon, the city where he was born and lived for almost half his life.
Roman Theater
Located in the historic part of the city
It reveals one of the most important monuments of Felicitas Iulia Olisipo: its theater, whose visible structures date back to the 1st century AD.
Casa dos Bicos
Located in the riverside area
One of the most representative examples of civil architecture in 16th century Lisbon
West Tower
Part of the Praça do Comércio building complex
Dedicated to medium-length temporary exhibitions on various themes related to Lisbon's history and present
In addition to these five centers, the Museum of Lisbon also manages the opening to the public of the Roman Galleries of Rua da Prata.
