Startup Lisboa

The creation of a Business Incubator in Lisbon was one of the measures approved in the Lisbon City Council's Participatory Budget. Its mission is to foster the development of entrepreneurship and job creation through a combination of infrastructure and specialized support services. Its implementation has helped position Lisbon as one of the most advanced cities in promoting entrepreneurship.

  • Incubation program - specialized consultancy, mentoring, provision of suitable space, from 10m2 to 40m2 equipped with furniture, telephone, cleaning, security, air conditioning and broadband internet
  • Pre-incubation program - development of the business plan through tutorials with specialized professionals, specific training, networking events and complementary activities

  • Support structure for business development - mentoring
  • Regular meetings with experts in young business development
  • Thematic events dedicated to the problems of young companies

Inaugurated in 2012, STARTUP LISBOA's mission is to foster the development of entrepreneurship and job creation through a combination of infrastructures and specialized support services, supporting innovative projects with internationalization potential.

STARTUP LISBOA currently consists of three business incubation spaces: Startup Lisboa Tech, an incubator for technology companies, and Startup Lisboa Commerce, a business incubator specializing in projects in the areas of commerce, services and tourism. In 2015, a third incubation and acceleration space was opened, also located in the city center.

In July 2015, CASA DA STARTUP LISBOA opened in the former student residence on Rua do Comércio. A welcoming space for young entrepreneurs who come to Lisbon to develop or present their projects, attend training sessions, find sponsors, etc. The "House" is aimed at entrepreneurs who don't live in Lisbon and need to stay temporarily in the capital to develop their ideas or contacts.

STARTUP LISBOA also manages the Startup Lisboa Loans Fund, with funding of up to €45,000, which is aimed at existing companies with 3 or more full financial years (funding of up to 100% of the investment) or new companies or existing companies with less than 3 full financial years (funding of up to 85% of the investment).
