These terms and conditions of use regulate the use of the website of the Lisbon City Council. It is recommended that you read them before continuing your visit.


These Terms and Conditions of Use govern the use of the website www.lisboa.pt hereinafter referred to as "website", owned by the LISBON CITY COUNCIL, hereinafter CML.

Objectives/Services: The main objective of CML's websites is to offer their users content, news, services, and institutional information, among others.

Access to and use of this website is the sole responsibility of the user, who is subject to acceptance of these terms and conditions of use, as well as the privacy and data processing policy contained herein. The use of this website as well as the relations between CML and users are governed by applicable Portuguese legislation.

CML reserves the right to change these terms and conditions of use or review the privacy and data processing policy whenever it sees fit, at any time, with or without notice. Click on the "Terms of Use" located on the website to view their current version. The most current version of the Terms and Conditions of Use replaces all previous versions.

If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions of Use, do not use the website. These Terms and Conditions of Use and the Privacy Policy constitute a contract between the user and CML and apply to the use of this website. It is the responsibility of the user to read and review these terms and conditions every time he/she accesses the website, to be aware of any changes made, as they affect his/her rights.


The "content of the website" means all the information present in this website, namely text, images, photographs, videos, illustrations, graphic design and web design.

All content is protected by Copyright and Related Rights, and Industrial Property Rights, under Portuguese and European Union laws, international conventions and other laws, and may not be used except under the conditions accepted on this website and without consent of CML.

The contents of the website, or any other industrial or intellectual property rights contained therein, are the property of CML, and its use by unauthorised third parties is expressly prohibited. The content of the website is provided for personal information and use only and may not be used, copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, sold, licensed or otherwise exploited for any other purpose without the prior written consent of the respective owner. The user declares not to use, disable or interfere with features related to the security of the Website and the Application.

You may, however, print material contained on this website, provided that it is unaltered, whether for personal or non-commercial use, and that you keep the source and copyright notice, and provided that any other indication of ownership is not removed.

Nothing on this website should be construed as granting any license or other authorisation for use to its users.

CML does not guarantee the correctness or accuracy of the content made available on its websites, and does not assume any liability or obligation for any (i) errors or inaccurate content, (ii) personal damage or damage to property, of any nature, resulting from access and use of the website and application, (iii) unauthorised access to or use of our secure servers and/or personal information, (iv) interruptions or termination of transmission from or to our website, (iv) errors, viruses, trojan viruses or the like that may be transmitted to or through the website, and/or (v) errors or omissions in the content or any loss or damage occurring as a result of the use of content published, uploaded, transmitted or made available through the website (vi) unavailability or any difficulty or inability to download or access the content or any other failure of the communication system that may result in unavailability of the website.

CML reserves the right to make changes and corrections, change the name, suspend or close the website when it deems appropriate and without prior notice to users.


CML does not control or manage the information, products or services of the content provided by third parties on CML's websites as well as hyperlinks to other websites on the Internet, and therefore cannot be held responsible for errors of any nature, or incorrect data, from these websites and/or content, including their privacy policies and practices. CML disclaims any liability for any direct, indirect and/or accidental damage resulting from the use or inability to use the materials contained on this website, and does not control and is not responsible for any illegal, offensive or defamatory conduct of its users.

The website is controlled and offered by CML from facilities in Portugal. Anyone accessing or using the website from other jurisdictions does so on their own initiative and is responsible for compliance with local laws.

The electronic publications contained in this website are subject to Portuguese law, to the extent that it is applicable to them, namely for the purposes of responsibility for the facts, opinions, articles and comments of duly identified persons or bodies, as well as for the protection of sources and other duties, rights and freedoms applicable to the written press.


The User may download or copy material strictly for personal use, with CML remaining the owner of the respective copyright.

The User undertakes not to attack or use the systems or websites of CML illicitly, being liable and bearing all costs associated with illicit actions assigned to him/her. Among others, the following are considered illicit actions:

a) Accessing an unauthorised area/account and its information; b) Testing and evaluating the vulnerability of the system and breaching the installed security; c) Installing or attempting to install a virus on the portal; d) Sending unsolicited e-mails that include promotions or advertising for products or services; e) Triggering or attempting to trigger "denial of service" type attacks (attempting to make the resources of a system unavailable to its Users).


CML reserves the right to interrupt or suspend access to CML's websites, for as long as it deems necessary, for any technical, administrative, force majeure or other reasons. Without prejudice to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, CML may not be held liable for any suspension or interruption of access that may occur due to reasons that are not attributable to it or that are attributable to mere negligence.


Without prejudice to the commitment of confidentiality (which should be taken as an obligation of means) regarding the use of personal data (for our policy on the use of personal data click here ), CML warns that there are risks related to the Internet and databases, and it is possible that personal data on the website may be captured and/or transferred by third parties, particularly in countries where personal database protection systems are still in the stages of early development and where protection is scarce and ineffective. Users accessing CML websites should accept the risks inherent to their activity as an Internet user, namely the risk of possible open data transfer.


Users of CML's websites declare and guarantee that they are fully aware of the characteristics and constraints, limitations and defects of the Internet, and in particular that data and information transmissions via the Internet benefit only from relative technical reliability, circulating in heterogeneous networks with diverse technical characteristics and capabilities, which disturb access or make it impossible at certain times. CML is not responsible for any damage that may be caused by the use of the service, including virus contamination.


Through our Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy the aim is to make users aware of the general rules for processing personal data, which are collected and processed in strict compliance with and respect for the personal data protection legislation in force at all times, namely Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 ("GDPR").

The storage of this information allows CML to continue to provide personalised services without interruption.


These Terms and Conditions of Use and any rights and licenses granted herein may not be transferred or assigned by the user but may be assigned by CML to third parties without any restriction.


These Terms and Conditions of Use and the Privacy Policy shall be governed by Portuguese law and interpreted in accordance with Portuguese law.

Conflicts and disputes of any nature relating to the formation, execution or interpretation of this Agreement shall be governed by Portuguese law and submitted to the jurisdiction of the Courts of the District of Lisbon, with express waiver of any others.
